PROTECTING WOMEN’s RIGHTS:

Todd has consistently voted to preserve a woman's right to make her own health care decisions. This isn't a new development. Over the years Todd has voted to keep health care decisions between a woman and her doctor. He believes in a woman's right to choose and will continue to ferociously defend that right in Pennsylvania in light of the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs V. Jackson. Todd believes women, not the government, should continue to make these deeply personal decisions about their bodies.

Todd is the only candidate in this race to cast votes that preserve women's rights to make their own healthcare decisions. Most recently, Todd opposed SB 106, a constitutional amendment that includes language stating our state constitution does not grant the right to tax-payer-funded abortion or any other right relating to abortion. Other votes to defend a woman's right to choose includes HB 1948; HB 2050; HB 118; HB 321; HB 1500; and SB 3.

In July, Todd was invited to join Governor Tom Wolf, and Attorney General Josh Shapiro to reaffirm our commitment to protecting a woman's right to choose at the Women's Center of Montgomery County and to draw attention to the severe implications the Dobbs decision will have for domestic violence survivors.

ACCESS TO QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE

Todd believes every Pennsylvanian has a right to affordable health insurance. In 2019, Todd supported legislation that established Pennie, a Pennsylvania-based health insurance marketplace available to all state residents to access affordable health insurance.

Pennsylvania's health care continuum has been under immense pressure since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognizing that our health care facilities were in desperate need of support, Todd voted to allocate hundreds of millions of dollars to long-term care providers to access PPE, testing supplies, infection control measures, and provide hazard pay for frontline caregivers. Additionally, he supported over $200 million in funding for our hospitals to provide recruitment and retention bonuses to ensure our community had the health care professionals needed to keep us safe and healthy.

Todd also voted to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for Pennsylvania's nursing homes so that our seniors continue to have access to quality care.
